OUR STORY

Edward and Antoanette Rastian, the designers and craftsmen behind University Jeweler, have been manufacturing and creating jewelry for over 40 years. Edward began working in the jewelry business as a teenager, trained by his father in his home country of Romania. He immigrated to the United States in 1983 to pursue his passion—crafting jewelry. The following year, he opened his own manufacturing business in Downtown Los Angeles, working for several well-known jewelry designers. 

 

A few years later, he met Antoanette who also worked in the jewelry business. She not only became his life partner, but a business partner as well. Antoanette began designing jewelry while Edward manufactured their products. After realizing how well the pair worked together, Edward and Antoanette decided to open their own retail store. They put down roots in Santa Clarita, California to give back to and support their local community—this is how GoldTime Jewelry came to be.

Many years after running their business, Edward and Antoanette’s daughter was accepted to the University of Southern California (“USC”), where they were all welcomed into the Trojan family. Inspired by the strong community and pride USC students, alumni, families, and fans exhibit, Edward and Antoanette wanted to use their expertise in jewelry to connect Trojans across the United States and spread school spirit.
